Aqua on Erakor

aqua-1Surrounded by the aqua waters of Erakor Lagoon, the outlook is mesmerising at Aqua on Erakor!

Open from 7:00am till late, you can start the day with the breakfast buffet, drop over for an island paradise lunch or end the day with a succulent seafood platter or sizzling Vanuatu eye fillet steak.  There are taster plates to share while you are enjoying drinks on the deck and live music on the weekends.

For non-staying guests at Erakor Island Resort, Aqua on Erakor is easy to get to. It is just five minutes from Port Vila town by bus or ferry to the wharf, which is next to Warwick Le Lagon Resort and then five minutes across the lagoon to the restaurant and resort. There may be a 1000 vatu charge for hopping on the ferry but that will come off your bar/meal bill.

While Aqua on Erakor is fabulous for day and night dining, on Thursday nights turn right after getting off the ferry to Calypso Beach for a fabulous Melanesian feast, culture, kava and fire-dancing. It is a lot of fun!

aqua-3There’s also beach cinema under the stars for Movie & Pizza on Tuesday nights and, on Sundays, it is Chef’s famous Seafood Platter night.

Here’s a sample from the menu – entrées include Coconut Prawns, Hummus & Hallumi and Salt & Pepper Calamari (1500/1600 vatu) and mains include curries, pork belly, lamb rack, Vanuatu eye fillet, chicken roulade and seafood marinara (1750 to 2950 vatu). And, subject to availability, there may be succulent whole lobster, caught fresh and grilled with your choice of garlic butter or mornay sauce, served with steamed rice and greens! For dessert, perhaps a Tiramisu or Tropical Pavlova (850/950 vatu)?

There is an excellent wine list, a choice of local and imported beers and more cocktails than you can poke a swizzle stick at. For littlies there is a Kid’s Menu (Pikinini Kai Kai) – fish & chips, a burger, bolognaise or chicken bites for 850 vatu.
