Port Vila has a range of accommodation to suit every need/budget. There are quality family resorts, adults only boutique properties, self-contained apartments, 'flashpacker' and budget bunk style accommodation. Prices range from $25 to $250 per person per night with most falling somewhere in the middle.

For value two-bedroom, self-contained there's Lagoon Beach Apartments (opened December 2006) a few minutes from Port Vila - two air-conditioned bedrooms upstairs with King Beds that unzip to two singles - there's a pool with poolside cafe. Pacific Lagoon Apartments, right on Erakor Lagoon, just a coconut's throw from Le Lagon and Erakor Island Resort. One bedroom has a double bed, there are 2 singles in the second bedroom and the lounge room has a pull out sofa bed. It's five minutes to town by bus.

Still self-contained, but a bit more luxurious for couples is Fatumaru Lodge, on the harbour a walk from town. There are eight seafront units as well as one-bedroom units for families.

Paradise Cove at Pango has one and two bedroom self-contained bungalows as well as a restaurant and pool. It's 10 to 15 minutes from town on the water. Sunset Bungalows offers adults-only quality accommodation on the lagoon with pool and restaurant. There's also the adults only Breaka's Beach Resort, Erakor Island Resort, Mangoes Resort (also adults only) and up-market hotel style at Chantilly's on the Bay.

For those wanting a larger resort and the facilities that come with that there's Iririki Island Resort (adults only bungalows on part of the island and Snorkeller's Cove for families), Le Meridien and Le Lagon (both these have Kids Clubs).

Other resorts we recommend include Poppy's on the Lagoon, Tamanu on the Beach and Benjor Beach Club in and around Port Vila. For those wanting to visit the island of Santo, perhaps Bokissa Private Island Resort or Aore Island Resort and on Tanna Island White Grass Ocean Resort or Friendly Bungalows.
